|In first conceiving the Stone Free II Project it was relatively
straightforward proposition. Build a custom 750cc motorcycle using the
new Harley-Davidson Street 750 engine and win First Place in a build
competition as a tribute to my brother who had build the first custom
choppers using the Honda CB 750 engine in 1970. The project and the
goal was simple and based upon what my brother accomplished over 4o
years ago or so I thought. It didn't take long for me to soon realize it was
far more than that. The name I gave to the project based upon my
brother's"Stone Free" helmet was the clue.

|Those are unquestionably words of inspiration for anyone that rides a
motorcycle and that believes in the liberty of the person but they were
not my brother's words. They're from the Jimi Hendrix song Stone Free
that had inspired my brother. He'd merely passed that inspiration on to
me. I thought about relevant words of inspiration and it took me
immediately to those famous words penned by Thomas Jefferson in the
writing of the Declaration of Independence.

that all men are created equal, that they
are endowed by their Creator with
certain unalienable rights, that among
these are life, liberty and the pursuit of
|The inalienable Rights of "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of
Happiness" is what being an American is really all about.
This words of inspiration by Jefferson touched me so personally that I
have a tradition of obtaining $2 bill from the bank because they have
Jefferson on the front and the signing of the Declaration of
Independence on the back and I use them for tips. They're odd ball
currency rarely used but in sharing the story of why I use them with those
that receive them is all about "sharing inspiration" with others.
I didn't pen Jefferson's words but I shared them.
My brother didn't pen the Hendrix lyrics but he shared them.
Inspiration is not about being the origin of inspiration but instead it's
about sharing that which is inspirational.
What started out as "my project" has become a project that must be
shared with as many other people as possible. A few will be involved in
the actual building of the Stone Free II chopper but others are invited to
join in the project. The project will be about all of us that choose to be
involved in the future achievements of reaching milestones and goals by
sharing. When a nut is tightened to attach a headlight it doesn't matter
who holds the bolt and tightens the nut. It is an achievement for everyone
involved in the project.
We will all work together to create a beautiful custom Harley-Davidson
motorcycle and when it's complete we can all take pride in what we've
created. We will all "win" when it takes First Place in a future custom
motorcycle competition. We will all be sharing our creation when it is
shown across the country at major motorcycle events. When someone
else becomes inspired because of what we created we will all be proud.
The Stone Free II motorcycle, once completed, will be shown at major
motorcycle shows and events around the country. I want everyone that
participates in creating it to come out, see it, touch it, even sit on it, feel
it, and say, "I helped create this motorcycle.".
Everyone is invited to participate in this project. Vendors of parts we
need are already offering parts at substantial discounts or free of
charge. Several people have already offered their time to help with the
physical development and build. Others have offered financial assistance
so that we are not financially constrained on the build. Others simply
want to be a part of the project as a "friend" of the project by simply
sharing it with others. Every single one of us are all equally involved
because we're inspired to be and share that inspiration with others.
